logo_on_greySt. Catharines, ON- A new football team competing in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) has come to the Niagara Region. The Niagara Regional Raiders will begin play at Kiwanis field in August. The Raiders will have a roster comprising of players aged 19 to 23.

The Raiders move to Niagara from Burlington, where they spent 58 years as the Burlington Braves. This marks the return of a CJFL team to play in the Niagara Region. They offer an alternative to university football for graduating high school players.

General Manager/Head Coach Brad Anderson is excited for the fresh start for the franchise. “Niagara is a hotbed of well coached football talent” said Anderson. “We are the only place to play for players aged 19 to 23 in the Niagara region.”

The Raiders will practice at a facility in Virgil. Their practice facility will feature:

  • A large double gym
  • A film study room
  • A camera tower
  • A new rescreened football field
  • Private locker rooms

Season play will begin in August with training camp beginning in July. Interested players can contact Coach Anderson by visiting and completing a contact form.
