This past weekend, the Niagara Raiders hosted tons of young talent at St. Catharines Collegiate in our annual spring training combine.
Firstly, the Niagara Raiders would like to thank all of the players that made it out this weekend and proved themselves both on and off the field. It was truly astounding to see new and old faces of the team connecting, and beginning to mesh as a unit. Saturday’s scrimmage saw some fierce competition from our defensive players that elicited a fiery response from the offence on Sunday. We expect our athletes to compete at a high level, season-long. If this weekend was any indication of what is to come; we anticipate this to develop significantly as the team grows stronger.
Secondly, we would like to thank Coach Dan Pepe and his supporting staff in ensuring that all of our athletes had the opportunity to showcase their skills through a variety of drills that tested both athletic capabilities and football proficiency. We are very fortunate to have a group of coaches who are qualified to help athletes improve both physically, and mentally.
Lastly, our training camp would not have been possible without the support of President, General Manager and Defensive Coordinator of the Niagara Raiders, Brad Anderson along with his wife Joan. Both worked tirelessly to ensure that the training camp ran smoothly from registration, to the team barbecue that followed both training days.
The countdown to an exciting season of CJFL action continues. Go Raiders!
