The Niagara Raiders hosted the New York Patriots on August 6, 2017 in a cross-border exhibition game. The two teams are hoping this becomes an annual event for the coming years.

The Raiders of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) kicked off their second season with a pre-season victory of the rival American team. The Raiders defeated the Patriots 8-0 and took home the championship belt.

“We will always use this game as a tune up game, it’s just an exhibition game but it’s a good fit for us and a good fit for them,” said Brad Anderson, Head Coach and General Manager of the Raiders.

The Raiders were scheduled to kick-off CJFL regular season action, Aug. 19, in Windsor, against the Windsor AKO Fratmen. The team will return home for their home opener on Sept. 3, 2017 when the team hosts the London Beefeaters.
